The Covid Pandemic certainly brought change to all of us. Coping with lockdown has taken its toll. However, for me, it was an opportunity to learn new skills, help others in a way I can and grow spiritually.
The podcast has been a great personal project that I will continue to do for as long as I can. Born during lockdown back in May 2020 and to this date (9/June/21) it has 29 episodes! I believe strongly that in order to grow magically and spiritually we need to practice meditation regularly. And I am trying to make it as easy and accessible as possible to all of you.
However, I also started a different journey during lockdown, since July 2020 I have been training on Hermetics with one of our best known elders in the craft. Although he would really cringe at the term ‘elder’ used for him. Too young to be an elder but he does have decades of experience in the craft and well deserves the title of elder.
During the long months of lockdown, I have been part of his training group, meeting virtually every Tuesday evening. Listening to his lessons and following a series of Hermetic meditations. The long journey that he has taken us has been the best training I have ever had in my magical and spiritual practice.
Not only I have developed as a wiccan, also it has sparked a brand new interest in magical and occult practices. I have also developed a desire to learn which has me reading at least 2 books a week. Maybe I should call it an obsession, since my target on Goodreads was 30 books this year and I am already on 52 books. I also set up a ritual/temple room in my house with altars so I can dedicate my practice.
One must never forget that training and reading is important, though practice is just as important. If you want to develop your skills, practice is the only way to cement them.
So why am I writing about this now? Well, last night I finally graduated (if you can call it that) from the Hermetics training. Our teacher has told us that now we have gone through the Hermetic framework and we are ready to continue with our practice.
And what is the best part? Well, the best part is that now I am going to develop my training further with the elder and become a teacher of Hermetics. So more months of practice and study, but a journey that I am keen to continue. I want to teach others the wonders of what I have learned and experienced during my course.
