Wytchery of Norfolk

“Witches were a bit like cats. They didn’t much like one another’s company, but they did like to know where all the other witches were, just in case they needed them.” — Terry Pratchett, A Hat Full of Sky

If you’re a solitary witch, you probably relate to the “cat” analogy. You’re comfortable in your own space, following your own path, and doing things your way. But every now and then, there’s a benefit to finding the others—to sharing a space, swapping knowledge, and seeing what happens when power is raised in a circle rather than alone.

If you’ve been curious about group practice but aren’t looking for a formal coven, welcome to The Wytchery of Norfolk.

What is the Wytchery of Norfolk?

The Wytchery is a programme of practical, monthly workshops designed for the solitary and the curious. We focus on the kind of hands-on magic that the internet and books simply can’t teach.

We are bringing this programme right here to Norfolk, hosted at our wonderful local pagan shop. It’s the perfect, welcoming space to learn, experiment, and meet like-minded people in a low-pressure environment.

The Lowdown:

  • When: It shall be held on a Thursday night, once a month, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
  • Flexible Attendance: While the programme builds as it goes, you can start at any point or drop in and out as your schedule allows.
  • Skill Building: We get hands-on with raising power, trance work, creating spells, and crafting talismans and tools.
  • Inclusive: This is open to anyone who identifies as a witch, regardless of skill level. It is especially suited for those with little to no experience in group work.
  • Purely Social: We aren’t making money from this, and we aren’t forming a permanent “working group.” It’s a social endeavour designed to help local witches find their “kindred spirits.”

What to Expect

When you step into a Wytchery workshop, expect to be an active participant. We believe the best way to learn magic is to do magic, so these two-hour sessions are designed to be immersive and social—whether that means moving, making, or meditating. You will walk away from each workshop with practical new skills and, in many cases, a physical item you’ve crafted for your own altar or workspace. There will always be plenty of time for questions and open discussion, and we may even host optional Zoom calls between our monthly meetups to keep the conversation going and reflect on what worked.
